Lexus hybrid and hybrid battery coverage
Lexus splits hybrid coverage in two. The Lexus Hybrid Warranty covers the hybrid battery control module (battery voltage sensor), the hybrid control module (power management control module) and the inverter with converter for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first.
The Lexus Hybrid Battery Warranty covers the hybrid battery itself for ten years or 150,000 miles, whichever occurs first, on 2020 and newer models. Lexus says to see your Lexus dealer for complete details on the Hybrid System Warranty, and our service team can check what applies to your vehicle.
What the Lexus warranty does not cover
Lexus lists situations the Basic Warranty does not cover. Among them:
- Fire, accidents or theft; abuse, negligence or misuse such as racing or overloading
- Improper repairs, alteration or tampering
- Lack of or improper maintenance, including fluids other than those specified in the Warranty and Services Guide
- Environmental damage such as tree sap, road debris and stone chips, salt, hail and floods
- Normal wear and tear, and normal maintenance services such as fluid and filter replacement, spark plugs, wiper blades and brake pads
- Tires, which have a separate warranty from the tire manufacturer
The full list is in your Warranty and Services Guide. Keeping up with factory maintenance helps; see our complimentary maintenance page for what Lexus includes with new vehicles.
Extra coverage after the factory warranty
Lexus says Vehicle Service Agreements are available for purchase at participating Lexus dealerships to cover nearly every component group after the factory warranty expires. Guaranteed Auto Protection (GAP) can help with a deficiency balance on a finance contract if the vehicle is a total loss from theft, fire or accident.
Genuine Lexus parts and accessories have their own Lexus Accessory Limited Warranty. Ask our service and parts team which terms apply, or see our LexusCare page for the owner benefits that come with a new Lexus.
